Lee Goller & Kirsty Manger
Lee and Kirsty create unusual and decorative ceramic tableware of high-fired porcelain and stoneware as well as sculptures and works for the garden. They use the colours and imagery of land and sea-scape.
Lee has been drawing and painting since she was four.
She is mad about semi-abstracting” figures, cityscapes and landscapes, and also about artistic principles such as contrast, line, colour, form and space.
Her influences are the Expressionist painters of the 20s and 30s such as Paul Klee and Lionel Feininger and the Bauhaus artists, as well as the beautiful pots of the past, from Persia, Iraq, India, Japan and China.
Kirsty has loved painting most of her life, and in her final years at secondary school she also fell in love with clay. She trained as a graphic designer (at RMIT), and has gained a great sense of colour and a sophisticated sense of design and form through working in the design and advertising field.
Rhythms of the sea and plant and animal forms provide her creative inspiration.
