Juliet Widdows
My work is inspired by the small nuances of Nature; pebbles on the beach, the play of water reflections, the twisting growth of plants. I feel that my work is always moving through a theme and developing as I strive to create pieces that the viewer would like to pick up and hold.
I create pots to be used every day and hope that each piece brings a tactile enjoyment for the user. I strive to integrate functionality with beauty, colour, texture and form I love the rich colour and effects of glaze in a reduced kiln firing.
My glazes are Copper based and I enjoy working with glazes that have a natural variation; the thrill of opening a kiln to see just what the flames have done!
